While attending the Los Angeles premiere of his upcoming movie,Masters of the Universe,on Monday, May 18, Elba, 53, said hitting the DJ decks withKing Charleswas “amazing.”
Reflecting on the Thursday, May 14, moment, Elba tells PEOPLE, “It was the 50th year of The King's Trust, who I work with sometimes. One of our programs, Elba Hope and The King's Trust, we had this DJ that I trained. He'd done one of my courses, and he was DJing. King Charles came over and he wanted to do a back-to-back, so he got on.”
After joking that his brush with royalty was “alright,” the actor corrected himself that it was “amazing” to be DJing alongside the 77-year-old monarch.
And just a few days after the musical moment,Charles was once again back behind the DJ decksduring a visit to the Aviva Studios in the northern English city of Manchester.
While theLutherstar didn't join King Charles for this outing, 22-year-old Christian St. Louis taught him to mix music on a turntable.

“I got genuine energy from him; he didn't seem like he was being forced to be here,” St. Louis exclusively told PEOPLE of the monarch at the time. “He seemed like he wanted to be here.” He added, “He is a lot more quiet, a lot more composed than I imagined. I got granddad vibes. He gives me that kind of energy.”
Fifty years ago, The King's Trust, formerly called The Prince's Trust, was founded by Charles to help disadvantaged young people find jobs and gain the skills they needed to break into the workplace across a wide range of areas, and Elbahas credited his start in the creative arts to a grant he receivedfrom The Prince's Trust when he was 18.

The money enabled Elba to attend the U.K.'s prestigiousNational Youth Music Theatre, and, subsequently, he has been an ambassador for the charity for many years.
More recently, Charles enlisted the help of Elba and his wife,Sabrina Elba, in an initiative called theCreative Futuresprogram, which designs courses to build skills for young people in the arts and film, TV and theatre world. TheElba Hope Foundation's Creative Futures has helped more than 100 young people since its inception.
The King has clearly been touched by Elba's efforts to help other young creatives and in January,it was announced that the actor will receive a knighthoodin recognition of his work for young people.
