TheDancing with the Starsjudge, 40, and his wife, 31, welcomed their first baby together, daughter Everley Capri Hough, on Monday, Dec. 29, sharing the exciting news with a joint post onInstagram. In the post, the couple shared a first look at their newborn with a black-and-white snap of their hands cupped around their baby's feet.

"December 29, 2025 Everley Capri Hough 🤍," the couple wrote in their caption. "Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed."

The couple, who tied the knot in August 2023, first revealed they were expecting their first baby together via asweet videoon Instagram in late July.

In the heartwarming video, Derek walked over to his wife and the two embrace while overlooking a scenic view. As the two hugged, Hayley flashed a strip of sonogram photos at the camera as the couple smiles and sways in the sunlight.

"We can't believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️," the couple captioned their joint video post.

Ahead of their newborn's arrival, Derek opened up about his excitement for fatherhood on theJennifer Hudson Show. While chatting with hostJennifer Hudson, he revealed that he sometimes forgets about the big milestone and is reminded of his excitement all over again.

"Sometimes I like I forget, right? I'm doing things, and I just glance over there and I see her bump, [and] I'm like, 'Whoa.' I'm like, 'I'm gonna be a dad,' " he said. "And, I cannot wait. I cannot wait."

The newly minted dad went on to talk about the first time he felt the baby kick, adding that he gets "emotional just thinking about it."

"I felt the baby kick for the first time, and it was that feeling that everybody talks about and describes, where all of a sudden everything became vivid and different," he explained. "And I'm like, 'Whoa, I'm going to be something that I've never [been.] I'm going to feel something I've never experienced before yet.' And, I just can't wait. I can't wait."

In October, the couple opened up about their previous pregnancy losses with an emotional video ontheir respective Instagramaccounts on Oct. 15, in honor of Pregnancy Loss and Awareness Month. In the video, they wrote, "This video is a tribute to a part of our story."

"A chapter of loss, love, celebration, heartbreak and everything in between," the statement continued. "Although we are so excited to be welcoming our rainbow soon, we honor our baby that never made it earthside."

The video went on to feature clips of the couple telling their friends and family they were pregnant, as well as Hayley sweetly telling Hough he's going to be a dad alongside their two dogs. At the end, the couple included a clip from when they learned they'd experienced a miscarriage.

"There are some things in life that change you forever. For us, this is one of those things. A chapter of love, loss, heartbreak, and everything in between," they wrote in their caption.

"As we are now in October, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we share this part of our story to honor our baby that never made it earthside," the couple added. "One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage, a silent heartbreak so many families know, and one we unfortunately had to experience. As we share this, know that there's a rainbow not far behind. ♥️🌈."
